Bei der Breite des Liebherr Laders und den Innenmaßen von Modellgondolas wird es wohl auf ein "Sowohl als auch" hinaus laufen. Entsprechend der von Dir bereitgestellten Skizze müsste der Lader in HO über die Räder 34,37 mm breit sein. Er ist jedoch 35,3 mm breit. Bedingt durch die notwendige Materialstärke und ein (hoffentlich) maßstäbliches Außenmaß werden die Innenmaße bei vielen Modellen kleiner.
Das merkt man aber bei guten Modellen eher nicht, außer man versucht z.B. eine Verladung darzustellen.
With the width of the Liebherr loader and the interior dimensions of model gondolas, it will probably run on a "both-as-well". Thank you for your suggestions and tips, but partly yes and partly no.
The track plan is basically the same as that of my old JT, which is now the Fremo module "Jayville".
It works very well on the job and that's why I took it over and "purged it" and it's an acceptable compromise between my wishes and the circumstances.
Yes, with the lengths of the spurs is such a thing. However, this ultimately depends on the buildings that serve them and is therefore not yet determined. However, it is important that there is space for at least two 50 'cars at the upper connections and that there is enough space between the buildings so that they are clearly separated. I have tried a few variants in the replanning. In one, each connection had its own switch, that was too crowded. In another, the arch ran from the interchange yard to the industrial park in a larger radius and the tracks then diagonally. This design would almost have become, but in this variant, the possibility for a continuous traffic would no longer exist. That became an exclusion criterion. Since the operational possibilities are more important to me and these were not better than with the current plan I decided for this. The interchange yard could also be a staging yard or a simple board. But because I want to make the turn correctly with Lok or disassemble, which is the same as the operation of another connection, this part of the system is also designed.
There is no local driving another company. Maybe the underlying concept and the fictive history of society will explain the whole thing better.
The layout was inspired by various smaller shortlines in New England and especially by the Easthampton Branch of the Pioneer Valley Railroad.
The concept is: A very small shortline operates from an interchange yard an industrial area located on a former branch line of a Class I Railroad, which was sold by this to local owners / operators.

The US modelers often count in Smiles, 1m (or 1Yard) = 1 mile (= 1 smile). I do it the same way. And so the entire layout and its operation is dimensioned. The JT has a track length of 7.94 m -> 7.94 smiles, it has 1 locomotive of 1500 hp (CF7) and thus carries 1750 wagonloads per year or 7 wagonloads per operating day. With an average of 2 wagons per customer and the service of on average half of the customers per operating day, the 7 customers. The track lengths, etc. are designed for the transport volume. In 1995, JT kept the old facilities in good condition and unused facilities were dismantled. At the beginning of the former branch a small yard with engine shed and office was built and the old CF7 is in a very good condition, since without them nothing works, or a replacement of Conrail would have to be rented. The weather in New England does locos that are only outside, not good in the long run. The minimal yard was built on the site of a former sidings. The storage shed has room for maintenance of the facilities and the Caboose office for the necessary administrative and accounting work and changing room in one.
The Local of Conrail pushes (between the sessions ) the few entrance cars into the yard and pulls off the exit cars. The session then begins with the blocking of these cars and the making of the turn.
The parallel track systems stem from the development of the industrial park from a former branchline branch.

Jetzt kann der Wagenzug vollständig umfahren werden und der auf dem dritten Yardtrack abgestellte Wagen wieder an die anderen gesetzt werden. Zum Schluss werden die Wagen grenzzeichenfrei in Gleis gedrückt, die Lok fährt ins Haus - Feierabend

Back to part 1 "Klick"

Hallo Fabian,

schön, dass diese Art Modellbahn Dich interessiert. Das Ziel ist, dass interessanter Betrieb für den Zeitraum der üblichen Ausmerksamkeitsspanne gemacht wird bzw. gemacht werden kann. Dazu braucht es keine riesigen Anlagen mit einer Unmenge an Fahrzeugen. Schon so eine doch recht kleine Anlage erfüllt diese Anforderung. Und nebenbei ist so eine Anlage unter dem Strich billiger, schneller fertig, leichter zu pflegen und in der Regel wirklich "Plug & Play". Damit wird sie viel öfter genutzt. Ich z.B. fahre bald jeden Tag 30 - 90 Minuten.
Sie ist aber aus der Sicht der Crew zu betreiben und das ist vielleicht der größte Unterschied zu den meist hierzulande üblichen und/oder gewohnten Anlagen. Man übernimmt die Jobs des Conductors und des Engineers und macht möglichst alles so, wie es beim großen Vorbild gemacht wird (nach besten Wissen). Damit ist man selbst eingebunden und ein Akteur der Show. Man ist also nicht nur Zuschauer der sich ständig überraschen lassen will oder, wie hier meist üblich, ein örtlicher Mitarbeiter, der Züge möglichst in dichter Folge auf "seinen" Gleisen fahren sehen will.
Durch alle diese Sachen, verbunden mit dem Car Routing System (und bei mir dem System der Interchange Boxen) wird und bleibt solch eine Anlage interessant. Es funktioniert aber auch bei noch kleineren Anlagen. Deshalb ist es vor allem auch wichtig, den späteren Betrieb bei der Planung mit vorzusehen bzw. auszuarbeiten. Das ist wichtiger als der eigentliche Gleisplan, der sich genau wie beim Vorbild nach den zu erledigenden Sachen richtet. Oft werden mit Shelf oder Switching Layouts Switching Puzzles verbunden. Aber gerade das Gegenteil ist der Fall. Switching Puzzles sind meist sehr unrealistisch und Eisenbahnener mögen sowas absolut nicht.
Aber auch Dioramen sind das Gegenteil, denn auf solchen Layouts soll realistischer, vorbildgrechter und alltäglicher Betrieb durchgeführt werden.

2. Teil
Part 2

Während der Fahrt vom Interchange Yard zum Industrial Park wird natürlich vor dem Befahren der beiden Bahnübergänge angehalten.
Im Industrial Park angekommen hält der Zug mit dem ersten Wagen grenzzeichenfrei vor der Weiche zum ersten zu bedienenden Anschluss - Jaycoat / Big Foods. Leider hat der Conductor nicht so richtig auf die Noten geguckt und den Off Spot Wagen bei Big Foods nicht beachtet. Deshalb muss im Verlauf der Bedienung dieser Spur der Zug eine Wagenlänge auf dem Main Track zurück drücken und dem zu Folge der Conductor 200 Yards zusätzlich laufen .

Hinter den zwei leeren Gondolas für's Scrap Yard wird abgekoppelt und weiter bis hinter die zweite Weiche des Run Arounds vor gezogen. Nach dem Umstellen dieser Weiche wird zuerst das Scrap Yard bedient.

Behind the two empty gondolas for Scrap Yard is uncoupled and then moved forward to behind the second turnout of the runaround. After changing this turnout, the scrap yard will be served first.

Als nächstes wird Waste Oil & Chemicals bedient. Dort muss nur ein Boxcar abgeholt werden. Bei der Bedienung dieses Anschlusses ist direkt vor dem Tor eine Straße zu queren. Dazu wird vor der Straße angehalten, das Tor geöffnet, der Conductor sichert die Straße und dann kann auf das Gelände gefahren werden. Beim Verlassen wird dann wieder zu erst über die Straße gefahren und dann das Tor geschlossen.

Die abgeholten Wagen werden auf dem Main Track im Run Around abgestellt und damit ist der erste Teil des Turns beendet. Alle Trailing Point Anschlüsse sind bedient. Jetzt kann die Lok ihren Zug umfahren und dann alle anderen Anschlüsse bedienen, die dann auch Trailing Point Anschlüsse sind.

Zuerst wird der Covered Hopper vom Team Track abgezogen, dann mit ihm von vorn an den Zug gefahren und an die verbliebenen Wagen, die ja schon im Interchange Yard richtig geblockt wurden, angekoppelt. Jetzt kann mit den zwei Boxcars und dem Covered Hopper wieder zum Team Track zurück gefahren werden und der blaue Boxcar (weathered by Chicagomen64 ) an die Rampe gestellt werden.

Die Wagen kommen samt den zugehörigen Car Cards und Waybills in die leeren Interchange Boxen des vorigen Eingangs. Diese werden weg gelegt und die nächsten zwei Interchange Boxen kommen an die Reihe, deren Inhalt wieder auf dem Main Track für die nächste Session bereit gestellt wird.

Die Session hat uns beiden großen Spaß gemacht und es wird sicher Wiederholungen geben.
An der JT sind weitere Detailierungsarbeiten zu erledigen, vorrangig wird das Scrap Yard dran sein, und auch die eingesetzten Fahrzeuge dedürfen einer Anpassung der Beschriftung und etwas Weathering.
Aber alles nach und nach. Die Anlage ist betriebsbereit und alles funktioniert absolut problemfrei.

es freut mich, dass es Dir gefällt. Wegen der Musik ist das so eine Sache. Die Originalgeräusche mit dem Geflüster von meinem Sohn und mir sind grauselig und 16 Minuten ganz ohne Ton sind auch nicht das Wahre. Deshalb Musik. Es ist gar nicht so einfach kostenlose Musik zu finden, die dazu auch noch nicht ganz so peinlich ist. Das war mein erster Film und ich habe keine Technik, um den annähernd professionell zu vertonen. Der Hintergedanke dabei ist - leise drehen
