    This is the post I don’t want to make but the time has come. I just can’t do this without Lynda. Following is the notice I sent to all the magazines.

    After 60 years in business, NWSL will cease operations effective August 30th, 2019. The company will continue to take orders for in-stock products until July 1st, 2019. Closure is for personal reasons and sale of the business is not anticipated, although reasonable proposals will be considered."

  • hab grad eine grössere Bestellung aufgegeben. So wies ausschaut, ist alles lieferbar.


    Würd empfehlen, JETZT zu bestellen wenn man irgendwelche Problemkinder hat. (Bachmann Shay... Climax.... diverse kranke Messiungmodelle) wobei Messingdieselloks eher von komplett neuen Antrieben profitieren, die lausigen Tower Drives zu rekonstruieren ist sowieso Nicht wirklich zielführend.


    Was mir auch Kopfweh bereitet, im online Katalog sind z.b. Zahnräder für die Lionel Turbine gelistet, Da gibts offensichtlich noch etliche Zeitbomben aus neuerer Produktion.


    Auf alle Fälle hoffe ich , dass sich doch ein Käufer findet, sonst schauts traurig aus.

    Tower Drives bei ALCO, Hallmark, NWSL, Custom Brass, NPP, Soho, Oriental. Alles von KMT und Mist.


    und z.b. bei Overland hattens zwar keine Tower Drives, aber dafür zeitweise Tank drives, die zerfallen.

    Den Nachfolger des OMI Tank Drive halte ich auch für einen Tower Drive, er ist nur tiefer gelegt. Er wird auch bei Brasstrains.com als solcher bezeichnet. Mit dem hatte ich noch nie Probleme, eher mit den Kardankupplungen.

    den von dir verlinkten Kumata Antrieb haben alle von mir aufgezählten Fabrikate lange Zeit verbaut. Oriental und ev der eine oder andere auch haben irgendwann zu Samhongsa gwechselt.


    - den besagten Overland Antrieb ( v Ajin) würde ich nicht als Tower Drive bezeichnen, er ist relativ problemlos. Ich würd ihn Einzelachsantieb nennen, das beschreibt ihn recht gut. Ein eigenes Kapitel sind die Overland Antriebe, die zum Nachrüsten von Plastikloks angeboten wurden. Die haben zwar die hochwertigen Einzelachsantiebe, die Bodengruppe ist aus allermiesesten Guss und zerbröselt.
