We come to you today to inform you of the difficult decision we have made to begin the process of closing TrainLife.
In 2010, TrainLife.com was started as an online resource for the model railroading and railfan community. We gave you a home to meet other like minded people and gave you access to a vast resource of railroad magazines of the past. Over time, TrainLife.com transitioned to retailer of some of the best model railroad products offered.
We have been honored to serve you, to get to know you and to build friendships with many of you over the years.
Now to answer most of the questions that will come because of this announcement:
Q. What about my pre-orders for TrainLife exclusive ExactRail releases?
A. The PC&F Beercars have left ExactRail’s factory and should arrive here at our warehouse mid May. Current pre-orders will still ship from TrainLife but remaining inventory will be sold & shipped from ExactRail directly as well as any other TrainLife Exclusive releases that we still had inventory remaining on.
Q. What about my pre-orders for other items I put a $5 deposit on?
A. Most of your deposits have been refunded. There are a handful that are still being processed. If you have not received your deposit refund or have not heard from us, please reach out so we can get the deposit refunded ASAP.
Q. Can I still place orders for existing products?
A. Yes, we have begun the process of liquidating & discounting existing inventory. All discounted inventory will be sold AS IS, and NO returns or exchanges will be accepted. Our free shipping and points programs will be discontinued.
Q. What is happening to Pelle Søeborg’s Daneburg Subdivision Layout?
A. Our great friends at ScaleTrains will continue the legacy and we are in the process of moving the layout to their headquarters in Tennessee. Look for great things to come from ScaleTrains soon.
Q. What is happening with the magazine archive?
A. We are very much interested in seeing this continue at a new home. For legitimate inquiries of purchasing it, please email us at the address included below.
Q. What happens if I have a gift card?
A. We encourage you to use the gift card as soon as possible to benefit from the current inventory selection. Gift cards will be honored through May 19th.

. Mir ging es genauso - UP / BNSF plus die Vorgängergesellschaften plus ein paar "Verirrte" aus dem Osten und schon wird das Sammelgebiet völlig uferlos

Hauptthema bei mir sind SP und Amtrak der frühen 1980er im Westen, dazu kommt in letzter Zeit ein bisschen Santa Fe (wegen dem Loop). Aber da gibt's noch die Maine Central, die damit natürlich nichts zu tun hat, aber in einer schönen Gegend unterwegs ist, an die ich gute Erinnerungen habe. Und der Grossraum NY bietet ja via Conrail, NJT und Subway ebenfalls spannende Stadtlandschaften...
